Full circuits or individual sub circuits can be simulated and/or prototyped, using breadboard, protoboard, or a custom dev board, helping validate an idea or approach while reducing risk to time and cost.

Component selection and detailed circuit design, based on high level documentation (specifications and system diagrams), incorporating any findings from simulation or prototyping where applicable. Guided by requirements and design calculations, producing a circuit schematic.

PCB Layout

Circuit schematics are translated into a functioning PCB layout, from simple single layer boards to complex multi layer designs. Each component's placement is carefully considered, and connections routed with signal integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability taken into account where specified.

PCB Assembly

PCB assembly for both through hole and surface mount components, including fine pitch work, with keen attention to detail and practices informed by industry standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711/7721.

  • Surface mount devices hand placed and soldered using a controlled reflow profile
  • ESD safe handling throughout
  • Components sourced directly, or supplied by you, depending on preference
  • Visual inspection of every assembled board
  • Suited to everything from a single prototype to small production batches
  • Conformal coating can be considered on request
Testing & Validation

Testing & Validation

Testing and validation is available, shaped entirely around what's required, from basic continuity checks to full functionality testing, carried out in an ESD safe manner.

  • A range of electronic test equipment is available, including a 4 channel 50MHz oscilloscope, a 2 channel 25MHz arbitrary waveform generator, a 3 channel programmable power supply (two channels up to 30V/3A, one up to 5V/3A), and multiple digital multimeters including a precision 6½ digit HP 34401A
  • An NI USB 6343 DAQ device is also available, opening up the potential for automated test setups. Custom fixtures can also be made to aid with repetitive testing operations
  • Test equipment is not currently calibrated, though calibration can be arranged if required
  • Any faults identified can be handled under Fault Finding & Diagnostics

Faulty boards are diagnosed to whatever depth is needed, from simply confirming the fault through to full root cause analysis, carried out in an ESD safe manner.
